WHAT A LONG,
STRANGE TRIP ITS BEEN...
A New Jersey native, organist John Ginty
has toured and/or recorded with many of the top artists in
the music industry for the twenty plus years of his career. His credits
as a sideman are numerous and impressive; don't believe me, check
it out here.
But when John is not out playing with the aforementioned top artists,
he loves to get together with his old homies from the 'hood (Mo'town,
baby!) and kick out some jams of his own. If you've never witnessed
a John Ginty Band show, if you've never watched a man saw a Hammond
organ in half with his bare hands, then, some would say, you haven't
truly lived. Just ask Nappi, he'll tell you all about it...
Inspired by
the latin percusssion driven Santana Band, as well as the Allmans
and the Dead, Ginty Band plays an assortment of original music and
covers, and never, ever shys away from getting their jam on. Featuring
bassist Mike Buckman, vocalist Paul Gerdts, percussionists Dave Hedden
and Chuck Wood, vocalist/keyboardist Kim Williams and drummer Dan
Fadel, the Ginty Band is like an old V8 engine; loud, angry, bad
for the environment, and packed with power.
Originally formed sometime in
the early 1970's, the band didn't really start playing together
until 2004. Since then they have recorded the underground
classic, double-live album, Fireside
Live, which features 12 inspired
performances, including the original songs (and crowd favorite) "Faith In His Name" and "Broken Lines", along with Ginty Band staples,
Santana band's "Savor" and the classic blues track "Done Somebody
Wrong". Since 2004 the band has performed countless shows
up and down the East Coast, including an appearance at the Langeradoo
Festival in Ft Lauderdale, Florida in 2007.
The
John Ginty Band is currently recording new original music with
the intent of releasing a new CD sometime in near future. Please
